Our Story
Where We Came From
I remember the day like it was yesterday. Our family was travelling in the middle of November on icy mountain roads in the dark, on our way to pick up the newest member of our family, Lily. After a short wait in the breeder’s living room, Lily appeared - a slight, timid, TINY long-haired Chihuahua. Over the following weeks we got to know our new furry family member, and we found it to be a steep learning curve! Lily was so small that we had to cope with new challenges unheard of in our previous experience of loving larger dog breeds – everything from chronic low blood sugar as a puppy to being unable to find collars, sweaters, or even doggy shoes small enough to fit! We spent hours upon hours shopping for supplies that wouldn’t dwarf her and apparel that wouldn’t drown her. We also had to find specialized equipment (like puppy stairs) to help her adapt to our large human home!
